Coaching

In their much quoted, extensive review into the impact of
in-service training, Joyce and Showers produced the following
conclusions -
The assumption that teachers will automatically transfer their
learning from training event to the classroom is not supported
by research evidence.

  A coaching session
“Coaching has lots of benefits. It’s empowering, it embeds
learning and it builds good relations.”

Even when curricular changes are well-implemented, the effects
tend to disappear fairly rapidly.
If an institution or a practitioner wishes to make sustainable,
long-term change, then development needs to take place in
the practitioner’s own learning environment working with a coach
who is respected and trusted.
